The Ashes 2006/07: The Perth Test Thread - Day One

Call me an idiot.. but i think England is going to win this one.... its about 11 hrs to match time and there are reports that Mcgrath is not playing, warnes also nursing an injury and Flintoff wants to make history right now!!!! by coming back from 2-down. England is going to announce its team tommorow but Panesar may be playing... i think its about time this Ashes came alive once more.

We can only hope but I suspect that the last day at Adelaide has killed the series. At 1-0 it would have been beautifully poised, at 2-0 it's a procession.

I agree, Mr Hutt you are an idiot.

I don't know why, but something in me wants to make me stay up and watch the first hour again. If only to see Monty running out onto the field and actually proving he's still alive!

Like a razor you are Rach, good form!

On second thoughts, he will probably end up on the pitch anyway, carrying the drinks on as they take a break after Fred's ankle goes/Langer notches his ton/Hayden makes us think we've got a chance by falling to Hoggy on 21, again.

I expect Australia to win this Test match, England are most liekly to field the same team because Flintoff wouldn't want his mate-Giles out of the team (Giles needs the match fee for his retirement in the distant future).

I hope England lose this one and the next won so that when England go into the 5th Test match with no pressure they will play Panesar, and I hope he takes 15 wickets in the match so he can silence Flintoff and Flecture who have doubted him all his career.

Love the optimism Mr H. Unfortunately think Mr Chaddi is nearer the mark. How much do England, and I suspect every cricket fan outside Oz want a performance this time.

Come on boys, make us proud again, and give us hope.

I am not too hopeful of an amazing comeback.Firstly i still don't think Panesar will play and secondly i just think England will be shot to pieces.

I think I just drank something I shouldn't, I was dreaming of this XI just a moment ago:

Bell
Colly

Fred
Read+
The Hogfather
Harmison
Anderson
Monty

Right, well, it's hometime so I'll bid all you guys a good evening and night, and [misguided optimism] may we have something positive worth discussing during tomorrow's (British) lunchbreak! [/misguided optimism]
