Interesting start - Indian openers were batting sensibly and managed to see off the initial burst, being 14/0 off almost 10 overs.

However, Wasim Jaffer got out not playing a stroke to Ntini and Sehwag as often threw his wicket away next over. India now 15/2, the old firm of Dravid and SRT on the crease and SRT looking somewhat tentative. Laxman and Ganguly in next so no shortage of experience.

It's confusing why Dale Steyn opened the bowling. It should have Pollock and Ntini.

I thought Kemp should of played with the world cup coming up. Its also disappointing SA have no spinner to field.
I see they made the wicket lively to counter the Indian's strength, the batting.

The cricinfo bulletin makes interesting reading...

But the introduction of Shaun Pollock changed the complexion of the session completely. Pitching the ball on the proverbial penny, probing outside off and teasing with his subtle movement, Pollock enlivened what was till then a sedate, sleepy opening. He was rewarded with the crucial wicket of Virender Sehwag, strangling him with a series of teasing deliveries on and outside off before inducing the edge with one that moved away.

He managed a snorter of a delivery soon after, one that took off from a good length as if it were propelled by a booster and crashed into Rahul Dravid's ribs, rendering him breathless for a few moments. Dravid chose to bat at the toss and if at all he needed any indication as to the severity of the challenge, here it was.
Talk of Pollock's revival in the ODI series boded well... but perhaps now, at last, after what I belive is his first-injury free start to a season in some time, we're going to see Pollock return as a great Test bowler. Hope so

Knowing India, they would probably lose this match. After taking these 7 wickets, India will probably lay back and the game will drift pass them.

I am sure the last few South African batsmen would make atleast 50 runs between them.

I don't think so 84 all out. I have come use to a poor SA side over the last 3 years but this is the first time I am really disappointed. Hopefully this is the low point. I think they should make changes for the next match.

I did expect India to do better in tests but this is too good. India is in a very good position to win this one but knowing India and going by their recent performances and knowing SA, u never know what will happen.
