Pollock just dropped Younis Khan. How costly will this be.

This has been a very good test match with a very interesting battle between bat and ball (how it should be). In fact, the entire South African test programme has been well worth watching this summer/winter. Very good test cricket.

In this match, we have seen some pretty impressive performances by the major players in the team. Asif (regardless of whether he should be here) bowled admirably. The more I see him, I more I am impressed by his bowling. Ntini bowled very well, and Inzamam's innings was pure gold (just like his winning knock in the Jamaica)

Pakistan should still win this match comfortably. It will take a great bowling performance to wrestle it away.

Oh, and I can only agree. Drop the keeper - he's useless.

Edit: and another thing. As much as Nel brings a nice bit of needle to the occasion, he really does strike me as someone without anything between his ears. Not only is his bowling a complete waste of talent, but he likes to think his histrionics actually get him somewhere (bit like Nixon trying to sledge Hussey the other day).

Pollock gets the big wicket of Yousuf. Pakistan are 87/4 now. Inzi holds the key. I feel that Younis could throw his wicket away at any time but Inzi, well SA will need to earn his wicket.

Milo, as for Nel, I couldnt agree more. I used to be a big fan of his but now I cant stand the guy. Initially, he used to get fired up and raise his game with the agression. Now, he behaves like and animal and lets the opposition get to him. Also, Smith and Nel are chums. Did you notice how in every previous innings's, Nel bowled more overs than Ntini. Ntini is fitter than Nel, so that cant be an excuse. Also, Ntini takes far more wickets.

Can Smith and Nel, be kicked out of the team asap.

Inzi is back in the hut. Its that man Ntini again. I think SA are slight favourites now. What can Kamran "cant catch" Akmal do.

Mr Nutt where are you?

Well done Pakistan. Akmal has played a blinder. overall, Pakistan were the better side. The series is now set at 1-1. I believe that if Pakistan beat SA in the next test then they are the 2nd best team in the world.

Can't catch but can bat. Seems to be the way with keepers these days. It's OK when it comes off like today.

Well even Younis Khan could "keep" as well as Akmal can, I think.

Akmal's batting is no consolation - he needs to go.

PS: On the broader issue, I agree with Milo and the rest. This was a wonderful Test between two evenly matched teams, which made for some enthralling Test cricket. True, quite a few batsmen continued to throw away their wickets, but there were enough memorable performances from both sides. Inzi's knock deservedly for the MoM in my view.

This South African summer is proving that Test cricket can be interesting despite evidence to the contrary from Australia! South Africa narrowly got the better of India in their three match series and this series against Pakistan looks like going to the wire. Just what sporting contests are about!
