South Africa vs Pakistan - 2nd Test

Good morning all.

2nd test about to get underway. Smith has won the toss and rightfully decided to bat on what looks like a belter. No changes for SA (even though they claimed they were going to rest Pollock and Ntini). Pakistan have brought in Akhtar, Sami and Yousuf in for Nazir, Rana and Iqbal(everyones favourite) respectively. First hour should be interesting with Akhtar and Asif bowling in tandem.

Lets see what happens

de Villiers gone again to a poor shot. Once again, Amla is in facing the new ball. Why is Rudolph not given a chance to open. de Villiers needs to go back to provincial cricket and get some confidence back.

Smith out to Kaneira in his first over. SA once again playing poor cricket. The top order performances have been disgusting, to say the least. SA relying on Prince once again.

I cannot watch, its too embarrasing

At lunch south africa are 65-5. Kaneria and akhtar taking two wickets and sami taking 1. Would have been more if Akmal held on to his catches but a good mornings work nonetheless. Pitch hasnt done anything just some good bowling and poor shots really. interesting post lunch session awaits.

Morning all!

I'm not sure that I agree with you, greg....

Yes, Amla is unorthodox, but he was man-of-the-match last Test, and did guide South africa to victory when they were teetering on the verge of a collapse. He at least deserves a run.

But de Villiers, now that is another matter....

Kallis has gone! Shoaib with another wicket....

83-6, can Boucher and Pollock stage a fightback?

Controversial selections on both sides - Asif and Akhtar for Pakistan, and gibbs for South Africa.

Neither teams, or even their fans, seem too concerned by the various selections and the alleged controversy, Mike. In fact, you are probably far more excited about them than anyone supporting SA and Pakistan! :-)

Isn't that the tuth....

Pollock goes, a fourth wicket for Shoaib!

93-7, and surely South Africa are sinking into the mire.

Did it look like Pollock was a little frightened of Akhtar's pace?

Another important breakthrough! Kaneria gets the wicket of Boucher....

120-8, just a matter of time.
