Daniel Vettori V/s Monty Panesar

Daniel Vettori is only 28. he has already spent a decade in international cricket . In that period he has emerged the world left arm spinner.
The Youngest player ever to represent New Zealand in Tests, Vettori has been an integral part of New Zealand Cricket Since 1997. His spin can be deceptive. He can be New Zealand's most dangerous bowler on the slow wickets of the west Indies.

Monty Panesar is only 24.His career 9 ODI & 13 Tests old is dismissively young. Ashley, Giles and Daniel vettori have been good but they were never great. In his first test he beguiled Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid.

So Vote for them.

Both are good in their own way. Vettori is the cleverer bowler who tends to make best use of his somewhat limited skills and by being restrictive forces batsmen to make errors. Panesar is the more talented spinner and more likley to take wickets by positive action, but on unresponsive pitches is also more likely to go for runs.

Vettori by a mile, just show how much respect the Australian side shows him and his bowling, Vettori is a class act Monty should strive to be as good Vettori because he is a great cricketer.

100% agree. Also really good in the field and with the bat! Not to mention a great cricket brain.

I think there is an unfair perception that Vettori's bowling is not that great. As I understand it, the problem for Vettori has been that his back has not been able to keep up with the stresses of bowling long spells in test cricket. This is a serious set back considering that spin bowlers are considerably less injury prone than fast bowlers. Ultimately, Panesar may end up with a better career record if he continues to play and improve as he has been doing, however, I think it unlikely that Panesar will ever reach the peaks of performance that Vettori has managed in the past; and only very hard work and determination will allow Panesar to even come close to Vettori's batting and fielding skills.

Vettori has been around longer and therefore teams know more about him. Panesar very unknown still. Also, panesar has even seeked advice from vettori. Daniel be a class act.
