Loyalty

Fletcher did brillantly for England until after the ashes his record in tests speaks for itsself. Problems where he had his bubble and stuck to his favored players. Monty and Read should have started the Ashes as they had finished last summer strongly but the out of form Giles and Jones where picked as better team men but that backfired. He was let down by Flintoff and Harmison as well plus the media made them into superstars and I think they thought there were better than the team its proved thats not the case. we need a good young coach like moody now. The world cup still for me is over shadowed by Bob Woolmers sad death as I wanted him to take over should Fletcher quit after the world cup

Failed to take the next step up after the ashes and dare to challenge himself and the England players on the subsequent battles to retain the ashes and to win the world cup.

Overall he did allright "but" he did a lot better in the first half of his coaching when thier was little pressure or expectation. Than he did in the second half of his coaching tenure when there was a lot of expectation and pressure. Some of his troops let him down badly in the second half of his post, notably Trescothwick (total cop-out)
Jones and Flintoff (solice in the bottle )

There seems to be a complete misunderstanding here. Trescothick's illness is no cop-out. Obviously this is not comprehended by many of our friends down under. FF responded to a similar comment in another thread. Ill thought out comments with regards to mental illnesses do not reflect well.

7/10 for me.

He has completely lost the plot over the last 7 months.
