Ahhhhh!!!!!!!

The problem is this, if we don't innovate and bring in new fans, then Test cricket will die!!!!!

I am not a fan of International Twenty20, but have seen what it has done to the Domestic game in England.

I have never been to a County game that has been sold out*, which you have to buy tickets in advance, or risk not getting in, but this happens with the Twenty20 cup.

Yes, it is not as good as Test cricket, but unless you get fans coming to the game, then it will die, it will be a remnant of a former age...and all you "protectors" of Test cricket will be at fault!!

*you normally wander into an empty ground with a few old men in caps, reading their papers, with a thermos flask of tea on the go.

Seconded. When I went to see Warwickshire vs Scotland, There was barely enough people to have a fight with. And this is the problem. And this was even what the older generation call "pyjama cricket" (i.e coloured shirts) I mean everybody loves internationals, once again I can only relate to myself, but I saw a day of a match between England and Sri Lanka at Edgbaston and it was rammed. We do need more people at county cricket matches, which means that more people will take up the game, which means more people playing for counties.

Which means more people watching Tests, which means that Test matches will still exist in 30 years time.

People can scoff at the younger generation, but unless we get Young Boys and Girls watching Cricket - at any level - then in 30 years time they won't be watching Tests!!

So Twenty20 is a way of attracting that generation - great then lets keep it, until something better comes up.

You mean to tell me that "Paris Hilton" is the name of a woman? Maybe I am getting old (aged 51 btw). All this time I was wondering why there was so much fuss about a hotel on a cricket forum!!

Blimey, what planet do you guys live on. I mean I don't know a huge amount (or care for that matter) about celebrities, but even I know that Paris Hilton is a woman (a very stupid one at that).

Hold it right there, Ern! How do you know that more people of your generation dislike her than the younger generation?

Well she's gone to jail now anyway, for violating some sort of probation. Something about driving without a license. I'm surprised that she even went to jail, America NEVER sends it's beloved tin pot celebrities to jail.

Not till early June she doesn't, apparently. And she's already had her sentence reduced!

If you have to bastardise the game to get fans along then why bother?

People can either like the game for what it is or watch something else.

What I don't know is what her occupation is, singer?exotic dancer? actor?, or should I not have asked.

I am over 45 and can't stand the women - so a younger generation must have given her sucker.
So you didn't download the video then?

Can't stand her, famous just because her daddy is rich and she is a spoilt brat.
