England vs West Indies - Second Test at Headingley, May 25-29

Sidebottom and Vaughan play...apart from that I don't have any other team news...

Once they had made the decision to select Sidebottom for the squad they had to pick him for the test - all reasonable logic pointed in that direction. Anderson can feel unlucky again - but he needs to be allowed to both find and demonstrate some consistancy. I believe he will get there but he really needs time.

Incidentally, one of the quirkier notes in the record books comes to an end with this selection!

I expect another run feast for England as this West indies attack looks so weak.Good to see the skipper back,i hope he justifies his selection with some runs and doesn't breakdown.I take it the quirky note was that Arnie and Ryan Sidebottom were both 1 cap wonders.

Sounds a great start,Strauss should have been out 1st ball and played and missed at the 2nd.

Doing my ironing in readiness for my trip to Wembley, going down this afternoon and this nervous start isn't helping my nerves.

Strauss out to a poor shot,he must be under pressure for his place i suppose now that Vaughan is back as they will need to drop somebody to fit Flintoff in.

Vaughan off the mark and England 42-1.
