India got triumph over Bangladesh. is it enough?

After World Cup 2007 Indian team brought out some good news for Indian cricket fans

India wrapped up second test in mere three days. They made it one sided game, an inning and 239 runs, which is a record margin victory in Indian test cricket history.
In first inning India bowled Bangladesh out for 118. In second inning they bowled them out for 253 and won the series by 1-0. Zaheer gathered five wickets in the fist inning and added two in second inning and was awarded man of the match. Sachin Tendulkar who is back in form is the man of the series.

does this victory can make the erase the world cup nightmare for indian cricket fans or India indeed need to continue this victory against other countries too ?

In a nutshell, no it is not enough. BD might be getting competitive at ODI level, but in Tests they still have a long way to go. So, India's rolling them over in practically the home backyard is hardly something to rave about or enough to earse the nightmare of the World Cup.

Certainly not

Enough? No way. India was expected to beat Bangladesh any ways by a big margin. Rather I am very dissaointed with the fielding. It was horrible. They were dropping so many chances. That needs to be addressed. I woould like India to win the test series against Englad now.

I do not believe there is any reason for India to rejoice. With all due respect to BD, they are still an ordinary side and have a long way to go in test cricket. And the Indian performance was far from dominant.

The bowling which failed to penetrate the BD tail on more than one occasion, remains a big concern. This is going to be a huge factor in England.

The Indian batsmen too did not really dominate until late in the second test and as for Tendulkar – until he goes back to his natural attacking style, a big score from him against top teams will never be a reality. There are encouraging signs with respect to the opening positions, but these two are yet to be tested against a better bowling attack than BD.

The poor fielding is not even worth mentioning here.

In my opinion the prospects for India in England in 2007 do not look bright at all. I will not be surprised if there is a repeat of 1974.

Sorry to say this, but any test tour to Bangladesh is a bit of a no win situation. All the test playing nations are expected to beat them...and heavily. Anything less than that will not be acceptable.

Not a lot of positives can be taken from a tour like this. You went there, did what was expected, add a couple of records, and you're back home. That's all.

India have a much sterner test coming up soon,we will know more about the state of their side after they have played England.

In a way England are in the same boat,as giving a thrashing out to West Indies doesn't count for much these days.

Think most people agree that this win will never compensate for an early exit in the World Cup. India need to do something against England in England for anyone to sit up and notice.

Agree totally....and they should do better, a lot better, while touring other countries as well before considering themselves once again as a truly international cricketing power. For the past few years there seems to be too much of a difference in the way India perform at home as opposed to away.

before every match we are expecting from india that India will perform better but India mostly disappoints us. Although some time it does better but all that performance becomes null until India win the series.

Indian Players need to do more practice by concentrating on only their performance in matches not anywhere else.

I'd say India have done well considering their exit in the World Cup.Winning by an innings and 239 runs is not easy even if it is against Bangladesh!
