| Windies call for Samuels According to Auntie Beeb, Marlon Samuels has been called up to the West Indian squad for the rest of the series: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/cric...es/6708341.stm Couldn't understand why he wasn't called up in the first place, even with the "match-fixing" cloud over his head. Innocent until proven guilty as far as I'm concerned, and as long as he isn't mentally affected by the cloud then we could see an improvement in the Windies' performances.

| He averages 28 in Tests and still only 29 in one days. His selection or non-selection had nothing to do with any clouds over his head. Admittedly, you could spin a coin over whether he or the other similarly poor performing players were picked and one could say he has more talent than Sylvester Joseph, but I doubt Marlon Samuels non-selection is a case of "why wasn't he picked in the first place". We now have a captain that averages 27 and I doubt if Samuels will be in England to play in the 3 day warm up game. So he will be undercooked also. |
