From what I have heard Strauss got out to the only good ball bowled in the opening spell. He seems to have picked up that habit in this Test series, with all the other Batters scoring runs, it has to be said that his place is the most under threat.

Vaughan sounds like he is playing a stylish innings, while Cook is showing that he is a natural at this level.

Is it really Greg? Or are we all too keen to jump on our sportsmen in England and not believe that they are considerably ahead of the Windies' attack (in this cricketing instance)?

It was clever bowling by Taylor, he'd hit Strauss on the thumb the previous delivery with a bit of a brute of a ball, then trapped him in front - very reminisant of Brett Lee in 2005, where he was hit on the helmet then clean bowled.

The West Indian's have bowled some good balls - just not consistantly enough to consistantly put England under enough pressure. Vaughan doesn't strike me with confidence, at least two of his boundaries have come when he's been trying to get the bat out of the way! But then again, he's scoring runs... and that's what matters.

I did make the point about whether ours would have done any better.

I just think that this is the weakest West Indies bowling side i can remember and when playing against one of the strongest England batting line ups in recent memory they will struggle.

Ninjaman is there a young prospect or two waiting to burst onto the scene in the next couple of years as it is quite sad watching the likes of Fidel Edwards being put to the sword.I would like nothing more than to see West indies rise again with a new Ambrose or Marshall.

The Windies are using Collymore and Sammy straight after lunch. Evidently they aren't trying to get England out, they're merely waiting for England to get themselves out. This could be a slow session as neither Vaughan nor Cook will look to do anything unusual. We just have to hope the Windies bowl enough rubbish to enable us to move along swiftly.

I'm looking forward to the Indian series now. This isn't exciting. How the Aussies must feel most of the time!

Well, its good to see Vaughn back to his best (playing down the wrong line again). I can just picture him looking at the pitch as if the ball moved square.

This is why I don't believe England have turned the corner despite how they have played against the West Indies - really the England players have nothing to gain playing in this series.

This team is much the same that got beat in Australia, so if they have improved - they will show that against India.
