Jardine was a cheat! The only thing he did for Cricket was bring the game into disrepute and dragged poor old Larwood and Pelham Warner with him.

There was no trickery or deceit involved in Bodyline as far as I'm aware. What Jardine did was perfectly fine according to the Laws at the time.

Jardine most certainly was not a cheat. The fact is that despite the fact that the boys from down under call us whinging poms, the biggest whinge in cricket history came from Woodfull, Bradman et al. A direct quote from Vic Alexander who bowled at Jardine in the last test.

"I have to say he had a ton of guts; I hit him in the groin and dropped him like a light, then hit him in the hand and with blood trickling down his fingers he never flinched."

I take great exception to accusations of cheating against Jardine; he was a man of implaccable courage (look at his war record) and a superb captain. To give him the label of cheat is not on IMO. How would the aussies feel if I labelled Bradman a coward?

Nothing, absolutely nothing, was given to Clive Lloyd, he built the best team in world cricket and instilled a previously unseen discipline into the side. Unlike Imran he then ruled for a long period of time, and it was, after all, easily the best side of all time. That said...

Frank Worrall is arguably the most important cricketer in history, there are no West Indies without him and there certainly isn't a Clive Lloyd. It's Worrall by miles. Third is probably Brearley, the results with him and without him are quite stark, he might be the best tactical mind to take the field.

That's how I see it.
