True, it hasnt made any differance but it would have been a nice attacking move.

I dont think Harmisons bowled bad at all and he's put in a decent 10 over spell which will have probably done him some good.

If you take Chanderpaul out of the WI side they have very little batting left at all, just a bunch of sloggers...

Ern, Ninjaman's comment was sarcastic - he was merely parodying the oft-repeated and quite silly criticisms of Lara over the years.

Looking at England, however, they are going to go into tea, whether at 1610 or when a wicket falls, feeling jolly irritated. Once again we see an inability to clean up a tail - something which has been a problem for England for a few years now. The record tenth wicket partnership for WI v England is 70, and it's under threat from a team which, as the press has told us, is hopeless. One to think about over the cucumber sandwiches, Mr Vaughan and friends.

Bearing in mind the storming start yesterday, which had West Indies at 55-4 at one point, there have to be serious questions over the effectiveness of England's so-called attack.

Did England ask for the last half hour? Or was play just late starting. Missed today due to work.

Excellent century( not that I saw any of it) from Chanderpaul.

WI get close to 300 and they'll take that I think.

Good spot Maranello.

I wondered who would bite. I am quite surprised it was Ernest

Yes, Maranello, they were quite silly indeed but yet some quite sensible and knowledgable people who should kow better never failed to make them time and time again.

Well done Shiv.

7th West Indian to pass 7000 Test runs.

Agreed - if pie-chucker is right, then the Windies's should have been blown away some time ago.

Yep I agree Maranello, but I thought it a good post to latch onto with the possitives of the West Indies, they have a core on which to build.

You don't have to ask - in fact, you get no choice. If there are nine down at the scheduled time for tea, tea is delayed until the next wicket or for 30 minutes, whichever comes sooner. So now, at 1603 BST, it's tea time.

West Indies made 287 in their first innings; England's reply will start at 1623.

Just for the record, as the whole of the first day was lost, the follow-on target is 138. That is hopefully a completely academic point. However, West Indies will surely be happy to have a whole session to take a pop at England today - I believe there are 33 overs to come today, light permitting.

Well done Shiv and Sidebottom.

Be interesting to see how Strauss gets on as he is under immense pressure after his poor run of scores.Cook on the otherhand must be relishing the prospect of facing this attack again.

Can't understand why Collymore isn't opening the bowling on this pitch,he is far more accurate than Edwards and Powell and Hoggy and Sidebottom showed accuracy is more important than pace on this track.

The WI shouldnt have got 300.

England didnt bowl that badly, they passed the edge of the bat plenty and created a few half chances. What is costing us is the non taking of chances. Twice now Chanderpauls given a chance before he's "in" and twice we've put him down and twice he's gone on to score a ton .

Cook's gone now.
