| I don't think these are that testing conditions Milo - Pietersen has just proved that he is a cut above the likes of Bell - Vaughan and even Collingwood.

| I've not been critical of Pietersen for years: Notts Exile convinced me to at least give him the benefit of the doubt... and I reckon that was probably in the summer BEFORE his Test debut! The guy being critical of Pieterson was Vic Marks, who compared his technique against the moving ball extremely unfavourably with the exemplary approach of Boycott, Edrich and Atherton. |

| Yet he went on to get a ton...... But thats all by the by. I hadnt been able to listen to cricket for ant long spells recently and when I had, when it was england bowling it was too short and too wayward. Listening on Saturday morning I had the pleasure of hearing how ganguly was sussed out then bowled by Anderson who pitched it up and was moving it this way and that but more importantly 5, sometimes 6 balls out of 6. Sidebottom (who didnt bowl as well Sunday it has to be said) also bowled well and the dismissal of Dhoni aside it was mainly stuff pitched up. Now, hoggard aside, would the 2005/2006 crew been able to do that ? Jones maybe but harmo and fred would have got too carried away with short stuff as we have been since 2005, and harmo would have been little threat if he did manage to get it on the track. I didnt think for a second this raw bunch of bowlers would have achieved much but they've all bowled very well. Alot of this has been credited, based on nowt, to Donald. I actually think peter Moores, acounty man through and through, is more likely because the conditions are so typically english and demand a typically english seamer that I'm not sure donald would have been as well placed to advise.

| Not just the England players, KP demonstrated he was better than Dravid, Ganguly and dare I say it - Tendulkar!! |

| I take it you wrote this with your tongue firmly in cheek FF

| I thought after getting out cheaply in the recent ODIs, Pietersen was supposed to be fatigued. Apparently, too much cricket. Nice to see he is well rested now. |

| Just because he was doing some daft sponser thing when he was quoted doesnt mean he ist right. England play too many matches. Between the 2006/07 Ashes and the next Ashes series, the aussies play 6 tests I think. We play 21.

| RBLC, that was not the point I was making. Maybe it was too subtle or my However, I highly doubt that Australia will play only 6 Test matches before they play England in the Ashes again. I think they play every other team in a Test before they play England again. I stand to be corrected, of course |

| And failed...... Pieterson, plays spin and swing fine, because he does get a long way forward and gets to the pitch of the ball. Just because his technique may not be so called "orthodox" you cant say he cant play the moving ball. E.g Ramps has a very good orthodox technique but averages a pathertic 27 in tests. Pieterson has an unorthodox technique and averages 50 odd...... So whos the best player then??
