He has bowled as well as anyone greg, when a bowler is swinging the ball - half volleys will happen, always a better bet than bowling short and wide.

Botham got a fairish percentage of his wickets with wide half volleys.

Most of the boundaries have come off short wide deliveries. They can't swing if you pitch them short!

Apparently, the 'snicko' showed no contact whatsoever in Karthik's dismissal. Well, I guess that is one more of those for the books.......

That's evened up the leg before he survived before lunch on Day 2 at Trent Bridge. They do say these things even themselves out over time.

I wonder if you would have been so charitable if it had been an English batsman. Somehow, I don't think so. This "evening out" seems to be reserved for former colonials.

Tendulkar appears to be at his devastating best and is taking every bowler to the cleaners on this difficult wicket. Who said he should retire?

It always ends up with the "colonials" getting mentioned. Chips on shoulders anyone?

Most accepted that Cook was lucky to survive an lbw appeal at Trent Bridge and weren't too disappointed when he was eventually given out to one that wasn't ever going to hit. I think we're more charitable than most. Had it been India deprived of victory at Lord's by a poor umpiring decision - Sreesanth lbw to Monty - I suspect we'd have that blamed on conspiracy and colonialisation.

So you missed the 1st wicket with a dross ball short and wide outside off stump that was somehow steered to KP.

Anderson hasn't learnt anything in 4 years so for me we should be looking elsewhere longterm.

He He. Fantastic; Greg getting stuck in to all things Lancashire, Ern defending all things Lancashire and my mate Nostro rolling out his "colonial" line.

I just need someone to start slagging off Monty so I can get involved and leap to his defence

Anderson would not played if Hoggard had been fit. Mind you, Hoggard might not have been at his best on the morning's flatbed wicket, but he would have been very effective in the afternoon's swing under the clouds.
