| Day night games are a joke. The only reason day night games take place is because of money. The conditions are not the same in each innings. It should be obvious to everyone this can only harm the game. And although it is wishful thinking that you can beat the money men the point should be made, daynight games should be ended from now on.

| I like them. You can just go down to a game in the evening and see a bit of the action, when you normally wouldn't get a chance in the day. Plus if you live in a fairly hot climate like me (Western Australia) it's much more comfortable for the spectator in the evening breeze. |

| The answer has already been proposed somewhere in the cricketing world: replace the toss with an "auction". Each captain says how much of a lead he'd offer the other side in return for the chance to bat first (or - in other circumstances - to bowl first). If Side 'A' bids a 45 run lead and Side 'B' bids a 55 run lead then Side 'B' bats first... but the chase, for Side 'B', starts with the score at 55 without loss. Strikes me as an inspired idea... and one that should be trialed ASAP with a view to utilisation at all pyjama-cricket fixtures. |

Great for the fans though.

| Day-Night games are just about the worst thing that could have happened to ODIs. It is simply a lottery decided by the toss and should be relegated to the dustbin of cricketing history. |

| The last time I read something on Cricinfo about it, the team batting first was more successful in both day and day/night games, but more so in day night games. Either get rid of them or leave them alone but, whatever you do DO NOT introduce this truly silly idea of replacing the toss with an auction. |

| Exactly. The fewer silly gimmicks in cricket the better. |

| I would do away with one day cricket in favour of more test cricket - the power play is just one reason, the day nighters another, one day cricket is a big enough lottery in any case-without the extra gimmicks.

| Never one to overstate. It isn't that much of a lottery there is a lot of skill involved. But day/ nighters do put more into the lottery brackett. You change the conditions in a extreme sense. I am also for less one day games but the fact is they are popular. What I object to his ine side batting under daylight and the other under artifical and pretending its a level playing field.
