Koertzen 'cheat' comments to be investigated

Cricinfo - Koertzen 'cheat' comments to be investigated

Quote:
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has asked the ICC to look into derogatory comments allegedly made by Rudi Koertzen about the Pakistan team.
During the Central Employment Tribunal's hearing into Darrell Hair's case against the ICC last week, Hair had described a phone call in which Koertzen, the South African umpire, had referred to the Pakistan team as cheats.

Sensible move by the PCB. I am happy to note that this was raised by PCB directly with the sports governing body; we have had quite enough of the media circus, thank you.

I would now hope that this is investigated properly and thoroughly behind closed doors, and then the decision is announced and accepted (after due appeals, if needed) by all concerned. The three parties, PCB, ICC and Koertzen need to avoid all media comment whilst the matter is 'sub judice'

The comments, if they were indeed said, can only be considered heresay. If Koertzen denies it, that will be the end of the matter

I thought the PCB would have something to say about that.

Yes, DSOTM. I should perhaps amend my post to "should" be the end of the matter
