That's not what was being suggested very recently.

I know that New Delhi is well known for it's winter fogs but the pollution levels there are exacerbating it.

I would not bet on this yet. Twicw in the past two series Pakistan have come out of far worse situations than this one to win the match actually. Last one being the match where Patahn took hat-trick and Pakistan were 30 odd for 7 wickets on the first morning and still won the match.

In the last session, limitations of Indian bowling attack were thoroughly exposed.

I too believe that it is too early to say as to who is in control.

India needs to score at least 550 before they can be said to be in a comfortable position.

The match is pretty even after 2 days. The Indian batsmen blew away a very good chance of taking the match away from Pakistan.

Now let us see what the Indian bowlers deliver in the second innings. Pakistan will take a lot of confidence from the way her last 3 batsmen batted, in the first innings, against the Indian bolwers.

It is up to the Indian bowlers to restrict Pakistan batsmen in their second innings.

Anything in excess of 150 to chase for India in the final innings is going to be difficult.

Well... at the end of day two India were 228/6 (VVS Laxman 57*, A Kumble 7*, 63.2 ov). They ended up all out for 276 just before the second new ball was due: they didn't even get close to batting the equivalent of 3 full sessions. Now there's no sense in scoring slowly for the sake of it... and there's no guarantee that batting more cautiously will see you to a bigger total... but I get the impression that the Indian innings would still be going strong if the batsman had played a little more watchfully.

Pakistan off to a great start in their second innings though: an opening partnership of 50 wipes out the deficit without loss. The match is now (40 minutes after lunch on day 3) all square: both sides have 10 wickets remaining and with 7 sessions to go, any result looks possible.

In my opinion, India lost the match in the final session of the 1st day when her bowlers could not wind up the Pakistani tail.

I do not see India being even competitive in the match from here on.

Well... Pakistan WERE doing OK. At stumps it looks like India have pulled the game back their way once again: Pakistan lead by 167 runs with 5 wickets remaining.... which might be Ok if the not out batsmen and the lower order can bat through a session or two tomorrow... but will leave India thinking a few early wickets could all but wrap up a fine win.

A lead of 167 is handy for Pakistan at this stage with reasonable batting still to come. I still believe Pakistan will comfortably win this match. India will find it difficult to score more than 150 on this pitch. The 90 odd runs that the Indian bowlers allowed Pakistan tailenders to score in the first innings are going to prove decisive.

Chasing just over 200 to win the match, India are currently 3/1 and in a bit of bother. On the 4th day pitch at the Kotla, it is going to be difficult for India to chase the required runs for victory.

It is a perfect opportunity for Tendulkar to win the match for India and silence his critics.
