Bit of a difference between KP and Nasser in height. As usual you are commenting and slagging people off when you haven't even seen it yourself,no point changing the habits of a lifetime.

Remember on radio they criticise every single minute detail of any dismissal,by the way they talk nobody should ever get out and they are the greatest players ever.

Tricky one Greg. Pietersen's dismissal reminded me very much of the way Vaughan got done by Lee and McGrath a couple of times in 2005. Sure, the ball kept low, but he probably should have been forward. There was a look of shock on Pietersen's face which probably wasn't merited and was identical to Vaughan's in 2005. It was a very very difficult ball to play but not, in my opinion, unplayable.

Well played Matt Prior - that was a great effort. I'm not a fan but credit where it's due and for the first time he has suggested he can handle tough situations. His keeping has been exemplary in this match as well. Still far from convinced in the long run however.

Well batted Prior but i doubt it will be enough now the tail is exposed to Murali.

What a bowler Murali is,Bell was stuffed all ends up there, can't have a go at him though as he has been one of the few England players who can hold their heads high in this game.

Well done Sri Lanka on a super victory after being 50-5 on day 1.

Unfortunately when, and I think its when rather than "if" we lose this match nobody will comment on how good that innings was. I'm really wishing we'd picked Swann now !

I was listening to TMS in bed yesterday morning when Prior missed a routine stumping (I think it was off Sidebottom): I've not tracked down the delivery and found out more... but that would make "exemplary" a bit of an exageration.

With Bell gone the odds on a repeat of last tour's heroics seem slim: recall this match at the same venue?

Code:
England 2nd innings (target: 368 runs) R M B 4 6
ME Trescothick c Jayawardene b Vaas 14 45 31 2 0
*MP Vaughan c Dilshan b Muralitharan 105 448 333 11 0
MA Butcher st Sangakkara b Muralitharan 6 45 41 1 0
N Hussain c Sangakkara b Vaas 17 54 42 3 0
GP Thorpe c Sangakkara b Muralitharan 41 144 132 5 0
PD Collingwood c Jayawardene b Dharmasena 24 92 64 3 0
A Flintoff lbw b Muralitharan 19 41 36 2 0
+CMW Read not out 18 108 91 2 0
GJ Batty not out 25 87 74 4 0
Extras (b 5, lb 6, nb 5) 16
Total (7 wickets, 140 overs, 536 mins) 285
Now that was a game with an exemplary wicket-keeping performance and some excellent batting from the 'keeper

He isn't there so why bother bringing him up all the time?

That's the key though - I think it was off Sidebottom. What stumping is 'routine' off a guy bowling at 80 mph. Have a little balance, eh?!

Malinga at this stage? Does that not risk a light appeal? With Murali back on the ball, I think it is worth any slow bowler at the other end to keep going as long as possible. That way, Murali keeps coming back on more quickly.

That is the thing, whoever is England keeper as soon as they make a mistake then Rachael will be in with her digs about Read.No doubt the reason we are set to lose this game will be down to the fact that Read and Ramprakash aren't playing.
