The wicket at Bangalore often 'dies' after the third day and Tests there are seldom interesting. I think the venue is better suited for ODIs.

This must surely be the worst test record fever for a main international bowler who has played over 30 test matches.

Mohammad Sami2001-2007 33*1164.0 183 4161 81 5/36 8/106 51.37 3.57 86.22

81 wickets at over 50. It is time for this guy to never to be picked for Pakistan again - regarldess of how many injuries they have.

Absolutely. He's now got the highest bowling average for anyone with over 50 Test wickets, making him the worst bowler of all time.

Sami has the unique distinction of making the following test career look positively respectable...
Code:
Mat Inns Balls Runs Wkts BBI BBM Ave Econ SR 4w 5w 10
Tests 40 72 8480 4748 128 9/57 10/137 37.09 3.35 66.2 7 5 2
I never expected ANYONE to plumb greater depths

Sami's record as a bowler is about as good as Ramprakash's as a batsman.

Also i think we should stop taking the mickey out of Pakistan picking Sami as we pick Anderson often enough.

P.S. You leave Malcolm Devon alone.

At least Ramps has a pretty stunning record in Australia... the closest Sami gets to even vaguely respectable is in NZ:
Code:
(6 ball overs) Mat O R W BBI BBM Ave Econ SR 5 10
overall 33 1164 4161 81 5/36 8/106 51.37 3.57 86.2 2 0
in New Zealand 4 170.4 491 14 5/36 8/106 35.07 2.87 73.1 2 0
Edit.. for those who have somehow missed my other references to Ramps in Oz:
Code:
                     Mat I NO Runs HS1 HS2 HS3 Ave 100 50 0
overall 52 92 6 2350 154 133 72 27.32 2 12 12
in Australia 6 12 2 493 72 69* 63 49.30 0 5 0
Now time to get my tin hat on as all and sundry express exasperation

ps. your response to the England side's very respectable showing in this contest is very reminiscent of may responses to England's excellent performance last time around - you might want to look more closely at how other sides have fared in Sri Lanka before dismissing this side's efforts.

pps. following Malcom's dire efforts has left me traumatised for life: how can I forgive or forget when alll I recollect is all and sundry simply imploring him to bowl to the field he's been set... and the wise one deciding to fling balls anywhere but on a line and length that might conceivably get the batsman wondering where the top of his off stump might be

Well Rachael, like it or not, Malcolm was a better bowler than those figures suggest. I understand that you only like robot-like players but in the real world we have unorthodox players.

Oh and since you believe James Anderson, is so talented, do me a favour and look up his record. You will find that it is worse than Malcolm's record. He averages over 40 and yet some people still believe that on his day he can destroy a batting line up. Too bad his day is yet too come.

I believe that Anderson and Sami are the worst 2 bowlers in cricket today yet for some strange reason they play almost every game.

Can we not ask for neither to play test cricket again. I have followed Pakistan cricket since the tour here in 1982. I personally want them to win games so I feel I have every right to moan at their obsession with this poor quality bowler who is only interested in trying to break the 90mph barrier.
