The rational being that you will have a bias toward a candidate whose work you know. Unfortunately, unless we lock umpires up between matches and forbid them access to sports coverage of any kind, neutrality is impossible. When you hear talk of "making your own luck", i believe "luck" is a bit of misnomer. |

| Latest ganguly dismissal, what else can you say about it other than calling it utterly shambolic, demoralising and outrageous? This test will go down in my memory for very worst of umpiring it has displayed.

Now that Harbajan Singh has set a new standard after taking Ponting's wicket by throwing himself on the ground and doing a triple roll. |

| Triple roll was alright because Ponting's dismissal was perfectly legal.

So you wont mind if Brett Lee runs down to the boundary line on our next tour of India and belts out a song through the stadium speakers system after each wicket ? |

| As long as it doesn't turn into soocer style celebrations with players taking their shirts of and diving towards the crowd. I remember when the windies toured a couple of years ago adn one of the bowlers (Collymore I think but I'm likely wrong) did this thing where he waved his hand infront of his face when he got a wicket. I thought that was over the top so completeing a triple roll (or a backflip for that matter) is definately too much |

| @ acker - yeah i'm seeing it how do they get more batsmen out. Thats quite a thing to be proud of. And I'm sure you would enjoy it as much as we enjoy Harbhajan's, if Lee were to celebrate like you say. And yeah i forgot to add that, i won't mind it at all

| i wouldn't mind at all but it would not be nearly as understandable as Harbhajan. removing the best batsman in the current game with his 1st ball to him for the 4th time. Keeps ponting's average against him at below 4 after 6 innings (at least). That's a good reason to celebrate...excessively! |
| |
| I think a bit of excitement can only be a good thing, last year when Warne took his 700th wicket he was running off like he was going to jump into the crowd and never come back. Harbhajan has the wood over Ponting but I don't think it can last the series, Ponting is too good of a batsman to keep going out so easily to an off spin bowler.

Harbajan has taken it to a new level. And definitely surpassed any cricket celebration's previously and many football ones including all codes gridiron, soccer, aussie rules, rugby..etc Footballers would often get fined for celebrating like Harbajan. |
