I think you've made enough predictions.

Great partnership by Harbhajan and the Little Master!

Tendulkar managed a lot of runs in the company of an attacking tail. After as many as 10 dismissals in the 90s (seven in tests and 3 in ODIs) in 2007, he finally got to three figures. I am very impressed with India's performance so far in this match. If only our bowlers can manage to restrict Australia's second innings lead to 150, India have a very good chance of winning. But batting on day 5 could be really difficult.

Yes, at the SCG that can be a real problem. I don't know what the present wicket is like, but balls used to turn almost square on the last day over there. But Symonds seems to have an ankle problem and if he cannot help Hogg with his off-breaks, India might still have an advantage.

Actually, the English whacked up 6/554 against us only last season
Cricinfo - 2nd Test: Australia v England at Adelaide, Dec 1-5, 2006
Australia won the test by 6 wickets

India should have scored 600 on that wicket. They came close enough though, and when you consider the performances made by the Aussie tailenders, it is not surprising the Indians did the same.

One thing of note that was pointed out by the ABC granstand boys. The Indians vetoed any watering of the outfield for this test which is normally SOP. Now our grounds are basically sand - if you do not water the grass every day it dies. If you have a look at the outfield tomorrow, the grass is already starting to die and go brown, thus the unnaturally quick outfields.

How much skill is needed when all you need to do is defensively block the ball and see it fly off to the boundary for 4? It is ridiculous, and wrecks the spectacle of game IMO. Notice how Tendulkar was dismissed at the MCG twice when trying to cut the ball with force? How the rest of the Indian batsman struggled for the same reason because the slow outfield actually made them HIT the damn ball rather than just tap the thing?

I don't want to see the little master tap and prod. It's lame. I want to see him HIT IT.

When touring sides come here, we should force them to play to our conditions. Make them work for their runs, make them work to save them.

If you ever want to see a batsman score "cheap" runs, this is the test to see it i'm afraid..............

By the same token however, credit must go to Tendulkar and Symonds for having the temperament to work with the tail and complile a decent total, and credit must also go to the Aussie and Indian tail for having the courage to play their shots.

The situation of this test is not looking good and i don't reckon this pitch is going to break up. Unless one of the teams dramatically cracks under the pressure, it will be 1-0 going into the WACA test.

Thanks Django....since most of your predictions have gone wrong, we can hope that India might just win this one.

That would take a superb bowling effort. It's not beyond the realms of possiblity though.

This match will probably end up a draw though.

Now Hussey has been reprived twice by the umpires.

The umpires are doing everything they can to either draw the match or make Australia win the match.

The umpires should be given a special medal at the end of this test match. Perhaps CA has ........

The Indian batsmen have fought back extremely well and something which has not happened often in the past. Full marks to Harbhajan and Tendulkar for their resistance.

If we get a full days' play tomorrow, I will still go for Australia to win the match comfortably. It will be difficult for India to score 250 plus in say around 75 overs.
