I have seen a fair bit of them and no memorable walking sticks in my mind.

But your mind is so biased I suppose I better watch the replays and mark off the times they walked when they skied catches to feilders in the deep.

Thumbs down

If the Australians were real champions and professionals they could have done one basic thing required in any game: playing with the right spirit.

Thats is what makes a true sporting team and not the number of records.
No one doubted the talent of the aussies but i'm sorry to say this game will be remembered for the wrong reasons. Rather than a record of 16th consecutive win, efforts made by the aussies, the aussies coming from behind and winning the match..

I was watching the Channel 9 Australian breakfast show "Today" this morning and funnily enough all the presenters seemed to be more on the Indian side than the Aussie....with the exception of Richard Wilkins who happens to be a Kiwi. Guess we should ignore his comments though.

You must have missed the part when the sports presenter was saying the Australian celebration was way over the top, the female presenter agreeing with him and Richard Wilkins the only one saying it was fine. They were also mentioning polls in Australia that were vastly in favour of Ponting standing down as Captain and that this was embarrassing for Australian Cricket.

What polls I can't seem to find them the only one I have is Ninemsn.com.au you would think that TODAY would check their own stations poll first:

Should Ricky Ponting step down as Australian captain?

5857

20180

I bet the 25% have never played a cricket match in their life.

This is galvanizing support for Ponting rather than eroding it

Well done Peter Roebuck and that growth coming out of your skin that looks remarkably like your fellow ABC commentator Jim Maxwell.
