Whatever mistakes Bucknor did or did not make. The ICC have said he will stand as umpire in the third test along with Pakistan's Asad Rauf.

I hardly ever agree with what the ICC has to say, but on this occasion I think they are right.

We can't have sides picking and choosing who umpires a match IMO, allow it once and the ICC will be deluged with sides wanting umpires who they consider would be more sympathetic to thier team.

Maybe Andrew Symonds was lucky when he was on thirty, and maybe Rahul Dravid was on the wrong end of a mistake, but with a record like Bucknors he will get it right more than most IMO.
I think every side has suffered with mistakes from umpires, and at times that can be costly - but at the end of the day umpires are only human and teams have to put games like this recent second test behind them and go on to the next game.
The last think world cricket needs is another Darrell Hair type affair.
