Looking for link

Hi All,

Can someone please send me a video link to Ponting's claimed catch off Dhoni's pads, which the Indian media claimed was grassed ?

cheers,

ClarkeForCaptain

Yes i would like that posted too. He caught that clean as a whistle, just as the commentators said he did.

I did get hold of a video link not sure if it will work by pasting here.

YouTube - Ricky Ponting Thrashed by Indian Cricket Legend Gavaskar

I used to agree with his policy of taking players word for catches but am a bit disillusioned by his actions.

Also found this other link

BBC SPORT | Cricket | Five-game ban for Latif

Casts doubts on Mike Proctor unfortunately.

Thanks for posting it that link.

What is that guy doing saying he grassed it? This is the type of lying propoganda that is causing all the issues.

I downloaded it to .flv file and went through it frame by frame. From the moment he grabbed the ball a meter off the ground, he had total control of it. I wouldn't mind a few opinions of others here (neutrals preferably) to see what they think

I haven't seen the link Seamer, but I saw the catch live on TV yesterday, and many subsequent replays also on TV. It looked like he had grassed it. Very difficult to say whether Ponting would be aware he had grassed it, which is the crucial (and unanswerable) question.

I am not Indian nor Australian. Just because I give an opinion you do not agree with doesnt mean I am not neutral

Though there are some players who believe that a player ALWAYS knows when a ball has bounced we should give Ponting the benefit of doubt.

Ponting being a sensible person should now stop advocating the use of 'fielder's word' over technology. Atleast this will remove allegations of cheating and benefit of doubt will rightly go to the batsmen.

I am neutral and it looked like the ball was grassed,a carbon copy of the KP incident in Sri Lanka and the ones in the other tests this week involving a catch by Paul Harris and a catch by a New Zealander. All were grounded by the fielder and fortunately in a roundabout way the Ponting catch was rightly given not out.

Which then brings into questions the 'neutrality' of the match refree. He has banned players before for the same offence for which he has let Ponting go.

Very fishy.
