Revoke Peter Roebuck's passport

Take him back England/United Kingdom

We don't want this dog

Some nice comments from his Sydney Morning Herald article this morning.

That should have read across the header "I Hate Launceston Public High School educated" Ricky Ponting as captain, and if you do not go to private school or Oxford or at least University you should not be a Test captain.

Roebuck news for you...you could not even get in a Test team..and are'nt you a bitter and twisted private school educated poonce.

What a seething overt comment of jealous hatred, Roebuck wrote it.

Quote:
In the past few days Ponting has presided over a performance that dragged the game into the pits. He turned a group of professional cricketers into a pack of wild dogs.

I usualy watch events unfold on channel 9 with the calm head of Richie Benaud steering the commentary through minamilistic but appropriate discussion and conjecture..remembering he tries to "add" to what he knows we are visualy seeing on the television telecast.

But I was driving back from Queensland on holiday's listening to ABC cricket radio, and copped 3 days of Peter Roebuck and his sycophant totally agreeable mate or body growth Jim Maxwell, shafting Australia and Ricky Ponting with a spewing out of hatred.

I was totally disgusted at both of them and even more disgusted at them now.

Then the ABC TV 7.00pm tonite news leads off first headline with the Peter Roebuck (their radio commentators story) about Ponting turning the Australian team into a pack of wild dogs....Pathetic ABC using yourself and your own to create headlines. Absolutely pathetic.

Read Roebucks article dine out on it.

Arrogant Ponting must be fired - Cricket - Sport - smh.com.au

It sounds like Roebuck is looking for an Indian newspaper contract

In my humble opinion Roebuck is a germ, but please feel free to form your own.

So much for freedom of speech? He is a dog because his opinions are not sugar coated for Australian ears? So anyone who can not butter you should be thrown out of your country?

Whilst Roebuck has always attracted criticism... I recall most of it coming from Brits who felt he was too adoring of all things Australian and too bitter that the rest of us did not share his unwavering admiration for what he regarded as the self-evidently superior ways of his adopted nation.

As for his views: pretty much in line with what I've been reading everywhere else - are they very different from these....

See Cricinfo - Open your eyes, Ricky

No matter what Peter Roebuck did or did not say, I would have thought he was not important enough to have created a thread about him.

Put it this way, if we were playing a mind game and I was asked name a cricketer with the initials PR, I would not have had a clue who he was.

According to BBC News 24 in the UK, it's reported that polls in Australia have come out against Ponting, and believe he has brought the game into disrepute, not is this caused by listeners blindly listening to what Roebuck had to say, along with Jim Maxwell - or are the Australian public capable of making thier own minds up without the comments of nobodies?.
To me acker Roebucks opinions do not matter one jot, what matters to me is the fact that a respected umpire like Buckner has fallen victim to the clueless and chinless ICC.
