| Should players be banned for claiming grassed catches ? Or is it the same as not walking after edging the ball ? I read that Clarke has already claimed a grassed catch in the recent Chappel hadlee series and now Ponting. Maybe Clarke is taking the 'next captain' tag too seriously. I know Latif was handed a 5 match ban! for this. Shouldnt the ICC apply these laws uniformly ? Or should this depend on what 'different' match refrees think ? But should players face bans for doing this, considering they are all lying when they refuse to walk after edging to the keeper (not 1st slip). | good to see with you agreeing that with current and future Australian captains claiming grassed catches it's about time we stop taking 'ANYONE's' word that they took the ball cleanly. I do think 12 months in prison for time-wasting tactics a bit harsh. It's one of those decisions the match refree can easily make for himself. Though it's almost impossible to spot a fielding side wasting time. HusseyForCaptain Last edited by amitdesilva : 09-01-2008 at 10:15 AM. |
