| India got the wrong Chappell as coach Plain and simply in Australian cricket Ian.... is reknowned as a harsh and brutal captain and a workman like batsman who skull dragged Australia to international success Greg...is reknowned as an overly compliant captain and a brilliant batsman who led Australia into a perod of international indifference.
I will also add at one stage 79/80 when Ian found his way back into the Australian team. Greg became very active in getting him back out of it.
In my personal opinion Ian would have furthered Indian cricket's cause more than Greg.
And I think a man who was not ready the first time he was Indian captain, maybe with his (non-victim) attitude now Sourav Ganguly probably is. But at 35 nearing 36 that wont happen. I hope Dhoni grows up fast. |
