Kumble and Harbhajan frustrating the Australian bowlers. Harbhajan scored his 2nd fifty of the series. Partnership between the two spinners close to 80. Score: 452/7.

India 497/9, twice here in the last few years sides have scored 550 and still lost. India's tails done very well to get to almost 500 but the games still in the balance.

India all out 526

Kumble 87

Well done India

I think there will be a review of the Australian team after this test match, we are being beaten fairly and squarely by a better squad.

I think we look to old, and it is showing glaringly especially in the field. I know bowling and batting are major factors in a teams performance.

But when your shoulders are shrugged in the field and catches that should have stuck are going down with regular monotony. Also byes, leg byes nicks that the keeper should have cleaned up and various other mis-fields. It exacerbates your cause.

The last time I saw the Australian team look this shabby was at the end of Greg Chappell's captaincy and likewise he was carrying an old team full of guys past their peak and non-youthful patch ups.

I go along with an assessment by Rod Marsh 12 months ago. Tom Moody should be the coach of this team not Tim Nielsen (who looks hopelessly out of his depth) and Cullen Bailey should be given time as the next most likely spinner (Hogg a good ODI bowler but not attacking enough for tests Symonds and Clarke picking up a wicket each re-inforced my views)

I also think Ben Hilfenhaus and Peter Siddle both need to go on the Pakistan tour. One step back to an older player I may consider is re-visiting Simon Katich.

I don't know for certain but I would be interested to find out if the black armbands being worn by Michael Clarke and Stuart Clark are in honor of Heath Ledger who lived in Sydney for a while.

I have a strong suspicion they are and that they moved in the same circles and are a similar age.

RIP Heath

I think it's actually for the New South Wales' groundsman's grandmother, or something like that. It seems a bit strange to me, but it's a nice gesture, I suppose.

Being beaten? Have you any evidence to support that view? Give Australia a chance to bat: if Adelaide is true to form there's no way India's performance is anything other than "par"... and assuming the players on either side don't just lose the will to live as they go through the motions on the least sporting track in Australian cricket... the draw surely looks as inevitable now as it did when the gutless ***** in the Aussie board agreed to schedule a match at the venue.

ps. Any sign of the pitch inspectors? A total of 150 runs from Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh SURELY merits investigation, just as much as 15 wickets falling in a day would merit investigation?

Australia 0-62 Hayden 37 Jaques 21

But honestly Rachael it looked very sad today, we had a spinner who would be flat chat holding his position in a state squad or possibly even an A Grade metropolitan squad bowling for Australia.

Plus a keeper who looked like he was at about the same level as him.

I doubt you will see either of them during the the next ashes tour in 2009.

Especially considering the current number 2 keeper is averaging around 70 in the past 18 months of domestic 4 day cricket. Plus a fair bit in ODI's as well.

I think they will find Perth is a very lonely place, and I sought of fear for them. But they probably deserve whats coming to them.
