He has been brilliant and i am pleased he is going out now rather than hanging on when he is past his best.He has been an awesome player and any criticism of him is totally pathetic.

He has toally changed the role of the keepers in the batting line-up. Now every team wants a "Gilly" to bat at number 7. It was a delight to watch him.

I personally have been a very big fan of Gilchrist's cricket both behind and in front of the stumps. It will be a great loss for Cricket.

Gilchrist. A "walker" to the end.

Talking about mortality, out of interest who in the England batting lineup is averaging more than him in tests Rachael ?

I could take an easy cheap shot at Alex Stewart, but that would just be be-littling a "very good" wicket keeper batsmen for the sake of getting in a cat fight.

Sad to think he has gone along with Warne and McGrath and Langer.

A huge blow to Aussie cricket.
