| Just because a carrott is dangled in front of you does not mean you should grab at it. Bond is an adult, seemingly capable of making a mature decision but did he? In the end, he might feel that he has taken the right decision for his financial security but such things are a blow to cricket. These deal have all the hallmarks of bribery. |

Negative. IPL gives more financial options and as well does not throw other traditional forms of cricket into oblivion. Ind Aus test series was a good example for what test cricket is all about. Damien martyn got 450k when he retired from cRICKET austraila...here is an opportunity for players to make same amount of money in a 3hr format....being played on a 44 day period. This 44 day period should be left for cricketers to go and make money. Once the event is over ...back to playing for your country again.... It hurts to know that person of craig mcmillan's talent was forced to sell some paints..just coz there were 10 other players from his country who were in better form for that year Dont think advent of T20 would displace test cricket. 50 over game would certainly take a beating. Test cricket is here to stay if organized on good wickets like in AUS

When Bond signed for the ICL they agreed to allow him to continue playing international cricket, His contract with the NZC allows him to play for the ICL. It wasn't a case of playing for one or the other until the ICC decreed noone could play for ICL and in ICC sanctioned matches (a position Bond was unaware of when he signed the contract). It's more the ICC's fault he's not playing for New Zealand than anything, if we're to apportion blame in this case. Either way Bond was to retire from test cricket. |

| I am very sympathetic towards Bond, and feel that most people would have done the same. I blame the ICC for preventing any flexibility or common sense - instead, the quality of international cricket will be lowered. All very unsatisfactory and disappointing. The question is, how do we stop this happening more, especially to New Zealand and South Africa when players would earn more from playing in domestic competitions than internationally? Article I wrote in defence of Bond - Third Umpire: Bond's name must not be tarnished

| it was broadcast by Zee network Speedboy Salesman....cozthey own the ICL. yeah but people in india... cared two hoots for ICL...they were playing ALL the matches in a ground in Panchkula, a winter resort as BCCI leases most of the grounds in india....it was new for the locals as they had never seen international matches before so u might have felt it attracted huge crowds. as Greg said it is a mickey mouse event...but it created some flutters b4 BCCI gave them a sucker punch with IPL. players like mcgrath warne, lara, md yousuf, inzy signed up for ICL out of which only lara and inzy ended up playing. they were desperate to have better players than the pile of junk they had and gave bond an offer too good to resist. |
