Tendualker and Laxman have made a big stand and the score is now 3/133 with Tendualker scoring 55 and Laxman not out on 50. Hauritz got belted by Tendualker and has now claimed his wicket. Did not see it myslef but It was caught clarke.

Appears to be even more pathetic when Michael Clarke takes 6 wickets for 9 runs!

And an equally abject reply from Australia, currently 63 for 7, chasing 107 to win. All the 7 recognised batsman are out.

This is turning out to be quite a Test, with both teams matching the other in throwing away their wickets and getting low scores...

I think there were loads in the 1890s and 1900s. In my memory, the India Pakistan one in Bangalore 87 didn't have many runs.

Yeh I was just checking some records, as is to be expected, a few very low-scoring Tests in 1880s and 1890s, and one between England and SA in 1907, where 40 wickets were taken for 423.

However, not many that recently, or even in the post-war period.

Quite a feat by India to win a Test after scoring 104 in the first innings!

Yeh that's what I thought, since I distinctly remember Pakistan getting all out for 116 on the first day...

Anyway, just checked, that Test had 714 runs for 40 wickets..so not that low scoring. Pakistan won that historic match by 16 runs, thus winning the series.

Interesting thing was that 35 of the 40 wickets in that Test were taken by spinners - Kapin Dev took 3, Wasim Akram the other 2, and Imran Khan none!

The current Test though is even more low-scoring, with 605 runs for 40 wickets (29 by spin/slow bowlers).
