A bit of both. Kaspa is getting some good swing but I would question the NZ shot selection. The ball that got Flemming was a good bowl but at the same time Flemming is better than that.

NZ looking a bit jittery. McGrath has them in all sorts.

Seems to me like the Kiwi batsman are still not sure which length to leave the balls, particularly when the line is around the off-stump. That's the place to bowl it early on the first day.

2 huge run out ops. 3rd umpire has just called the 2nd not out. If Clarke had hit on the first one Styris would have been 2m short.

OHHHH! Styris just copped a beauty of a bouncer on the shoulder. Dosent look all that happy. Sinclair was hit by one only a few overs ago.

Hi Beny,Mike

I like the committment of the men from NZ; I dont like the fact though that they are a team weak on penetrative bowlers and two test quality batsmen short. Chris Cairns really should have reconsidered playing on, he is way too goo a player to be wsitting down infront of the television watching test matches instead of playing. Now is the time for Sinclair to show that he is more than a big score and little else batsman and get among the runs consistently. I think he is a fine player who needs to focus . Fleming needs to get BIG runs and more test tons not only career wise but for his country as I personally think he plays up and kisses up to the Australians too much.; he needs to get tough and realise that the opposing team is the enemy.

Hey Don,

I think Flemming is one of the great thinkers of the game. He drew the last series with his captaincy. I definetly agree with you're take on Sinclair. I just saw his manhaten and it looks as though he's had 2 double tons and a 50 and thats it.

Styris caught behind off Kaspa. I thought it was going to bowl him. Very good bowling!

NZ 3/77
