Second Test

I'm a little surprised this thread has not yet been started. Anyways, as expected the Kingston pitch is a little more seamer friendly than the previous one.

Bangla have done a reasonable job. I'm a little surprised to see Banks taking four wickets on day one at Jamaica. What could be the reason chaps? I can't really understand. As I know Banks is not a huge spinner of the ball either.

Don't know the answer to this question about Banks, Nikhil, but what do you think about Brian Lara? He has made it plain he will quit if WI doesn't win this match. Will we be seeing him as captain in England this summer, or has he just effectively resigned the captaincy? May depend in part on the weather: BBC forecast is for some storms in Kingston today, but fine weather for the rest of the match. Bangladesh 264-9 overnight.

WI looks to be in a strong position. I expect them to win this one and keep the honor. I saw a little bit of Banks during the Oz tour of WI. He looked a decent player.

Lara and Sarwan did well today. Expect some fireworks from Smith. WI should get a substantial lead and win the match IMO.

haven't seen any of the play, but looking at the scores on the bbc site i'm impressed with the improvements that bangladesh are making under whatmore. They might still be a way off from their first victory but they're regularly competing for large sections of the game and from series to series which is at least in the right direction compared to a couple of years back. I hope they continue to improve and get their first win soon as it will be good for test cricket as a whole.
