But where are the current crop of fast bowlers from the sub-continent? I have read the posts on the TMS International and South Asian boards and they sound really special.

If someone would like to single out all the slow bowlers from that lot and break them down into finger / wrist spinners... or indicate which in that list were / are genuine fast bowlers as opposed to fast medium... or pick out any left arm over characters (whether spin or seam) that might be interesting.

A tougher one would be getting them in roughly chronological order... or working out how many 800+ bowlers there have generally been at any one time: something I once set myself as a challenge and then never got around to doing.

Alas, I'm now too busy to even contemplate any of the above... and will be for the forseable future... so: do with the list what you will!

CJD - you obviously missed my post earlier on fast bowlers: I quote from it -

"Sami's Test rating right now is actually rather fun: he's steadily slide from the fringes of the top 40 to 63rd shows no sign of abating... and he's now been overtaken by Fidel Edwards... and sunk below Bicknell, Kirtley, Andrew Hall and (hope you are sat down) Adam Sanford!"

LOL - I can always see the quality when that lad plays and it's generally the batsmans square cut to the boundary.

Mmmm - starving a batsman of width isn't exactly his speciality, is it!

Do not despair Rachael, that's the sort of pointless time wasting activity that I quite often do myself when all the shopping and DIY is out of the way...I'll just fix my shower pump...and relay the kitchen floor...and then I'll get right on it.

What did you think of Flintoff's fivefer?
