Well it wouldnt be a bad idea to bring back Andy considering that hes been doing next to nothing in australia. It would serve as a much needed boost for the Zimbabweans.

Well, the first test is on at the moment, and it seems to be going all Bangladesh's way

Having gone into bat, Bangladesh put on a record score for them of 488 all out with 3 scores of over 50 and one of 48 and one of 49. Mortaze scored his 48 off only 44 balls.

In reply, Zimbabwe have so far batted poorly to languish at 84 - 4 (at the close, day two). Bradley Rodgers scoring a painful 5 off 47 balls (including 1 four) before being run out. Zimbabwe's survival will rest on Brendon Taylor, Tatenda Taibu (yet to bat) and Elton Chigumbura (yet to bat). It seems though that Rodgers' run out was one of those unfortunate ones where the batsman (Masakadza) drove the ball towards to bowler who got his finger tips to it and flicked it onto the stumps to run out the batsman who was backing up too far. Still - it won't have helped Zimbabwe's cause.

So. Bangladesh made 488, now we're 4-84 in reply, trudging along terribly. For us to have any chance Masakadza and Taylor need to score +70, with one of them scoring a century.

Bowling O M R W
Mpofu 29 3 109 4 (1nb)
Hondo 27 6 70 0 (1nb)
Chigumbura 28 6 79 1 (2w)
Nkala 26 10 50 2
Cremer 16.3 1 86 2 (1nb)
Matsikenyeri 23 3 84 1

Not bad. Hondo disappointing, Mpofu and Nkala uplifting, Cremer got better (but not International class) and Chigumbura as always consistent.

Zimbabwe 1st innings R B 4 6
S Matsikenyeri c Habibul Bashar b Tapash Baisya 28 30 5 0
BG Rogers run out (Enamul Haque jnr) 5 47 1 0
V Sibanda lbw b Mohammad Rafique 12 30 3 0
H Masakadza not out 28 33 4 0
AG Cremer lbw b Mohammad Rafique 0 3 0 0
BRM Taylor not out 8 27 2 0
Extras (b 1, nb 2) 3
Total (4 wickets, 28 overs) 84

Mmm.....gives one alot to think about...eg...Why Ebrahim or Vermuelen aren't playing? Why Taylor didn't open? How Sibanda is playing when he wasn't even in the original squad? And why Cremer is playing off the back of no tour match and half a season of First Class Cricket.

Anyway, Bangladesh should win but lets hope we can make our way through this trench.

Maranello, if you wouldn't mind, would you care to move my thread entitled Zimbabwe tour of Bangladesh to the say something series.

Many thanks, Paoli.

I agree with u abt Mark and Dion not being played.Thats just so irrational.I guess Taylor would have been a good choice for the openers slot but dont mind rogers either. He looked pretty fine in the few matches that i saw of him.
