| Sub Continental teams are hardly saints themselves and Caddick has always been a w*****. What's wrong with Harmison and Gough's attitude? Last edited by Maranello : 20-01-2005 at 05:06 PM. Reason: Editing offensive word |

| It was only 5 years ago that I left school, as it happens. I can't imagine things have changed that much since then. Private Schools have always been a bit different - in my home town there was a private school and the toffee nosed oikes there had a penchant for insulting behaviour towards the local comprehensive kids - who gave back in equal doses. I'm not sure what your school is like, but Private Schools are very, very different from any other type of school. It also matters a lot where you live, there are some areas of England (Burnley, Oldham, Bradford etc.) which have attracted some right wing supporters, which I'm sure must permiate into other locals. It sounds to me that, if your school is as bad as you say, then you are at the wrong school!!! Now, as to the attitude of the English players that you listed... You don't like Flintoff for swearing and hurting the batsmen. Fair enough - but that must mean you don't like the majority of bowlers! Not many are averse to such behaviour, especially not our Australian chums! And only the other day, Danish Kaneria was reported for similar behaviour. As to Nasser - I have to agree that he had a difficult personality for people to deal with, similarly with Caddick. As for Gough, I take it you don't like him because he's a bit of an 'in-your-face' type character - you certainly know if he's got someone out. However, there are much worse examples of such players, such as Dominic Cork.... Really, everyone has their own favourites - and people they love to hate when it comes to players; I don't have (much) of a problem if people complain about Graham Gooch's character; everyone has their own opinions. I still reckon most English players compare favourably in terms of character to Saurav Ganguly!!! |

On a serious note, I am suprised and saddened that you feel things are getting worse. It is my sense that the coming generations are much more used to and tolerant of immigration. Even my 79 year old dad has a best mate who is Indian!! I am very concerned that you think things are getting worse, when in my view things are getting better. |

| Andy, my view is based on my whole experiences in Liverpool, Sunderland and middlesborough all the places i have lived throughout my life. not just my one school. anyway as i said, i have many, if not most of my friends are english, so its not all terrible, but there are still many preconceptions and intolerance in many of the english kids! hey fair enough guys if you dont like ganguly (not sure why you dont like sehwag though, but its your opinion yeh dominic cork was another one who i always never liked. |

| I know I've not been watching cricket for very long, but I don't think I've ever heard any players swearing when I've watched games on tv.
