Question Adding a sixth day for tests?

With the ongoing problems with slow over rates and play being lost due to rain, does anyone agree that tests should be allocated a reserve sixth day to ensure the full 450 overs are bowled? The broadcasters might not like it but they don,t have to telecast it if they don,t wan,t to. I still advocate that teams are fined and possibly punished with runs for slow over rates, with the knowledge that the overs will still have to be bowled. Would this solve the slow over rates problem once and for all?

Yeah, so is taking 90 minutes to bowl 15 overs. Incidentally, the best vs the rest of the world test in sydney is a six day test. An indication of the future perhaps?

Is it really? We should get an indication then if the anyone can beat Australia. The batting would be strong enough though the bowling is a worry.

Incidentally, this would be my team.

Strauss
Sehwag
Lara
Tendulkar
Dravid
Kallis
Sangakarra
Pollock
Bond
Muralitharan
Harmison

Akhtar would be in the squad as well.

Looks a mighty powerful batting lineup - that,s for sure. For me, i would have to take into account the S.C.G is good for spinners - i would have to take another. My team:

Struass
Sehwag
Lara
Tendulkar
Dravid(c)
Sangkarra
Flintoff
Kumble
Murilitharan
Harmison
Pollock
Ahktar(12th)
I would have to make Ahktar 12th man as he could not be trusted not to break down and leave only 1 paceman. Kallis would have to miss out due to his poor record against Australia. I would have Bond ahead of Pollock(just) but he is out due to injury

Six days

No. Five days is enough especially with back to back tests seemingly the norm now.

How to ensure results, fine teams 10 runs per over if they bowl short of 90 in a day with exceptions for wickets, 3rd party and weather breaks. Give teams 50 runs per ten overs more than 90 they bowl.
450 overs should be a minimum. not a dream.
