The ICC- Are they racist???

First i may have to start with a little disclaimer...I am not trying to say they are or start a racially motivated thread...Sorry if this offends anyone...

At school today, a few mates of mine (some caucasian, some indian) were discussing this...My Indian mates were adamant a pattern was occuring, and that the ICC are racist and target black or asian bowlers....Here is a list of players who have been reported for suspect actions...

INDIA: Harbhajan Singh
PAKISTAN: Mohammad Hafeez, Shoaib Akhtar
SRI LANKA: Muttiah Muralitharan, Suresh Perera
ZIMBABWE: Blessing Mahwire
WEST INDIES: Jermaine Lawson
AUSTRALIA: Brett Lee
ENGLAND: James Kirtley

Brett Lee has been reported and cleared as was James Kirtely (England)

I don't know if it can be called racism or not, but its worrying and dissapointing trend nevertheless

Yes, James Kirtley in about 2000 was 'caught' I believe whilst on tour of Zimbabwe.

I don't think this constitutes racism in anyway. I hardly think Ersan Mani is a white supremacist!?! There are scientific ways of judging whether a player throws - specific guidelines are set down, and if any of these players are being erroneously charged with throwing, then it would soon become clear when the scientific studies into their action are completed. If players are being cleared after being reported by the same referee/umpire then it would become a concern and I'm sure the ICC would have to look into why that umpire/referee was falsely accusing certain players of throwing.

And I don't believe Kirtley was cleared, I'm sure he had to go through the remedial process.

Before he played for England, he was filmed by biomechanics experts and cleared by an eight-man ECB panel, but no sooner had he made his international debut, in a Harare one-dayer in October 2001, than suspicions were aired again by the match referee, Colonel Naushad Ali. With the backing of both the Sussex and England management, Kirtley carried on regardless, and returned to the side the following summer, following extensive remedial work.

I wasn't questioning your statement Zainub. I was tentatively adding it to the list at the beginning of the thread. I can see how it appeared that way.

Oh, I see. Since we're speaking of Kirtley, I might as well ask, what's he up to now-a-days, still with Sussex I presume

No Paoli I would say they are not racists, I can see from lots of points of view they could appear that way.
India and Pakistan have been allowed not to play each other, for all sorts of potitical reasons, and security as well.

But England who are tied into Zimbabwe by history, and how Magabe hates that, and how he whipped up hatred, but would the ICC let England of the hook, no way.

Not racism IMHO, just that they are not capable of reading a situation, they are incompetent, at best, moranic at other times, IMO they are not fit to govern world cricket.
They show their incompetence to every race.

Tony Lock (Eng)
Kumara Dharmasena (SriL)
Jimmy Kamade (Ken)
Geoff Griffen (SAF)
Ernest Jones (Aus - ok, this was back in 1898)

Tony Lock openly admitted he threw a few balls now and then.
