I'm not sure that Mr Mani's presence in or absence from the West Indies matters much, Zainub. Seems to me that the issue is one of cash and a couple of contracts (WICB & Digicel on the one hand and Player & C&W on the other). They are the parties who need to work to resolve the issue, and I guess they already know it. Disappointing that the issue is still dragging on, however.

The Aussie dispute is at least simplified by the fact that there are fewer parties involved - Cricket Australia and the players whom they are meant to pay. I hope this will not interfere with Australia's international commitments. Honestly speaking, I am pretty sure it won't, as no-one Down Under will want to be sending a second-string eleven to face the mighty, mighty England! (Right, Ern?)

You may well be right about what the ICC can or cannot do to help change the situation, but my senitments are probably a result of general disregard of the ICC, and its consistencies. Sometimes when you are as p***** off of an organization as I am of the ICC (or the Karachi Drivers' Licence Association for that matter, who refuse to give my learner's licence despite my having to prove to them a millon times that I'm not under age), then you tend to get carried away, and just feel, well, basically, mad. And I also agree about the situation in Australia, those guys down there are way too professional to let get things out of hand. I was perhaps just trying to force a point, albite in vain in it now seems.

Would a Czech or British driving licence be any help? I seem to have one of each. Of course, my photograph is of someone a little older than you ...

Thank you for the offer, that is very kind of you OF. But dispite how annoyed I might me, I'm determined to get my liecense the right way. You know what the problem is? Sometimes just trying to do a thing the right way can be pricesly what makes you go mad (at least in Karachi anyway). I have a whole bunch of friends who are driving around entire Karachi with no license what so ever and with no fears what so ever. In fact I've even been in public transport which has veteran drivers with no or expired licenses too. I think no, I must get a license, just 'cause I can't seem to get get near the steaing without one, just doesn't come to me those thing. But what do I get in return? The MOST incompetent, idiotic and illiterate man I've ever seen to deal with Life can be so unforgiving.

ps: thank you for listening to all this garbage, I just had to take it out sometime

I don't think Ehsan Mani is that bad, he is a Chartered Accountant after all

On a serious note, stick to doing things by the book ZR, and hopefully it will pay dividends. Even if it does not, you will have the satisfaction of not breaking the law or doing anything immoral

I agree OF, there is nothing the ICC can do to resolve a contractual dispute to which they are not party. They are not a firm of lawyers, nor do they have any legal standing to enforce a negotiated settlement, and any potential "arbitration" would be unrecognised by the legal framework of the BVI or whatever law these contracts are under. No, I am afraid this one is for the four parties to the two contracts, and their respective lawyers.
