It may be a little unkind, and it's always dangerous to make this kind of comment half way through an innings, but so far this seems to have been a contest of two players - Lara and Smith. No-one else particularly setting the game alight with the bat. I see almost everyone has had a go with the ball though - at least on the West Indies side: eight bowlers used so far.

Gibbs out, SA 303-6. This match is still very much alive.

They are limited sides. Has either side got a top class bowler? Okay some of the bowlers aren't bad but there is no outstanding bowler. There is lots of effort with very little result from the bowlers.

No, I don't think either side has an outstanding bowler, although Ntini has his moments, and is pretty damn good. However, I'd like to big up Bravo, who I think is going to be a super star. Nippy, thoughtful bowling, and can be a handful with the bat. I like the cut of his jib!

Well, SA have lost 4 wickets for only 28 runs this morning, and are all out for 398, which will be disappointing for them. First innings lead to South Africa is 51 runs. Methinks I should be in the Windies watching this stuff! Incidentally, all four wickets this morning went to Gayle, who finshed with 4-50.

Ntini is one of the world class bowlers IMO only a few are better than him.. In the top 15 possible top 10 bowlers in the world for definite.

And indeed he has just picked up CH Gayle for one run, caught by de Villiers.

WI are 18-1.

So, at the beginning of day 5, WI lead by 119 with 5 wickets remaining. What would you do? Sporting declaration at some point to give a chance of a result? Or block the day away if you can? I have to say I'd go for the latter route. This is only the second test of a four(?) test series. Time for a result in a later game. I'd be aiming to come out of this one square at 0-0.
