Yes, it is certainly interesting to note that the rag-bag assortment of players sent out in the 1st test match played rather better than the supposedly stronger team in the rest of the series!!

True.

Anyway, this bowling attack has bugger all sting in it. Daren Powell can get it to move pretty quickly, but even he isn't that good a bowler. Where the hell is Jermaine Lawson?

Yep, that has been the trouble the WI have had for a while now, they have a few bowlers who show some promise, like Powell and Best, but no real fire power at all. SA looked so comfortable yesterday, like it was batting preactice rather than a test match!!

I'm not sure what has happened to Lawson, but I'd like to see him in the side.

IN a downhill ----- westindies..

After watching the west indies be thrashed by south africa i have to ask the question...Why is Westindies in test cricket.Don't get me wrong people i am a suporter of west indies, however forum i have some suggestions that will every cricke fans out there think a little.

1) When Lara the master goes..who will stand up and bat for West Indies..?..Come on, everyone knows that there is'nt any one..

2) Our bowling attack is such a waste that they are never consistent...I understand that it is hard as a young bowler but i mean come on...who will take wickets for westindies..There is no wicket taker for the westindies...

3)This is the one i can't understand.......Now tell me why in the caribbean known for its flat batting wicket...where everyone knows that pace bowlers will have to try hard to get wicket..WHY DID'NT the westindies pick a spin bowler....i mean come on..no spin attack....obviously with such a weak pace attack did the westindies expect bowlers expect to bowl southafrica out twice. As we have seen forum they can't even do it once...WHERE IS DAVE MOHAMMED..THE BEST SPIN BOWLER IN THE CARIBBEAN...

4)I SUPPORT WEST INDIES BECAUSE OF LARA THE GREATEST BATSMAN IN THE WORLD..BEHIND THE GREAT DON BRADMAN..

5) YOU KNOW WHAT BOTHERS ME ....to see the westindies make the same mistkaes again and again ....are they not learning or something...well Lara goodluck to you and i hope you break all the records out there you have'nt broken yet.

God save the West Indies! After the openers, Kallis and Prince have brought up centuries as well. I love the Windies so much but they really send me into a depression when they play like this. Dunno what'll happen after Lara's exit...AND YES! WHERE IS DAVE MOHAMMED?

All Hail Kallis

Kallis is definitely the best consistent batsman in the world and especially against the poor weak pace attack of the westindies for which he seems to like the best to blast around the ground.Watch out for this guy as he is heading to an average of 60.....I'll tell you something also....THIS GUY..................AB DEVILIERS.....THE NEXT GREATEST BATSMAN IN THE WORLD......Good luck to Lara tomorrow cause they may need it....HOPE FULLY IF HE CAN SCORE MORE THAN 400 HIS RECORD HE CAN SAVE THE GAME FOR THEM.....

Thumbs up De Villiers the next best?

OK de Villiers is going great guns now but hold your horses man! De Villiers is making good of all opportunities that are coming his way but I'd wait before declaring him to be the next greatest. Let him play against Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka and then you would get a better idea. For the time being lets give the 'next greatest batsman' tag to the one and only Virender Sehwag!

Seeing as last year AB DeVilliers was plying his trade in Northern Irish domestic cricket and he's only 21/22, he's made a fantastic start to test cricket. Even if it is just a great start as you suggest Doink, I think having made the amount of runs he has at such a young age, he will be a fabulous cricketer for the future, even if he doesn't live up to the start he's made, South Africa have found a batsman for the next 10 years (or even their own version of Alec Stewart?)
