Sorry RBLC, i was adamant with Mellons as well....

I mean test GAMES record holder, no it isn't Andy Flower, and halt this question until someone answers RBLC's question. First day nighter. At Old Trafford, circa 1975.

The day night match I saw was at the Don Valley (athlectics) stadium, Sheffield circa 1992 with Yorkshire verses the rest of the world including an amazing batting cameo by an ageing derek randell. I'm trying my hardest to recall the other players but I sat and watched it gob-smacked, and put this down to restoring my interest in cricket again.

And in fairness, RBLC's question didn't ask about internationals. I stopped researching this one when the Guinness Book of Records website couldn't produce an answer.

Somehow I actually saw this game live on Yorkshire TV (don't ask me what it was doing there). They rigged up the ex-Notts player Basharat Hassan (I think that was his name) as the umpire with microphone and link to the commentary box and he just had an absolute laugh, acting the fool with Randall and a few others. The game included a very young Sachin Tendulkar (he was 18) who was smashing sixes and I realised at that moment he wasn't the new Gavaskar, although he was wearing his pads and batted like him when he came over here in 1990.
