Can't help! Stepped out to the kitchen and missed two.

Cricinfo offers:

15.1 Flintoff to Mushfiqur Rahim, OUT: bouncer does the trick once
again! Rahim was clueless and in the end plays a nothing shot,
ball clips the glove and pops up behind the stumps, Jones does the
rest

and

13.3 Flintoff to Mohammad Ashraful, OUT: Harmison! short ball, Ashraful
fends at it trying to avoid getting hit, ball clips the edge and
lobs up towards the gully region, Harmison dives forward and takes
it inches above the ground with his right hand, fantastic catch

So, we are now into overtime with four overs scheduled today. Surely if there is another wicket England will ask for the extra half hour, and if there are two they will almost certainly get it.

In the unlikely event of england getting the next 5 wickets for 8 runs ( it was on the cards earlier!) would that have been the first time a bats 1st inning score was higher than the combined scores of both innings by the oppsition (does that make sense ? - its friday PM after all)

I understand the question, RBLC, but I'm glad I haven't had a beer yet! It's a question for Bearders, isn't it?

No! I was right. CMJ was wrong. The unlucky 17,000 ticket holders for tomorrow will get a full refund if there are fewer than ten overs bowled, and a 50% refund if there are fewer than 25 overs bowled. (This, in my experience, is a generous provision which is unique to England: I have held tickets for short test matches in South Africa, West Indies and Australia and never got a penny back for the unplayed days. Mind you, given the ticket prices in England, maybe they are not being all that generous!)

all back tomorow to see England win...

If you had tickets - would you turn up? It would cost me £8 in train fare and I would probably just about tasted my beer before it will all be over..

I don't think I would bother unless I was in London for some other reason. It's a shame for the 17,000 who bought third day tickets. At least the second test starts on a Friday, so there is some hope that those who can only get to the ground at the weekend will see some play.
