I do indeed, Rachael! I doubt it will go that far, to be honest - and the punters haven't exactly put money on any play on Sunday, so few will be disappointed if the match finishes tomorrow. My point really is that there are 20,000 people at Lord's today who are enjoying themselves, and at last count something more than 10,000 tickets sold for tomorrow. The people who have tickets for tomorrow may not have had the opportunity to see any play in the first two days, hence for their sake I would like to see some play tomorrow (and not just the ten overs or whatever it is which needs to be played to save the ECB having to refund ticket prices).

Vaughan Declares

420 is the traget - 24 overs left today

Wonder if they will manage to hang around until tomorow?

Touch and go, to be honest! Certainly there could be refunds tomorrow under the ten over rule.

They do deserve the centuries purely because other batsmen have the same experience so it all evens out I guess. Any brilliant batsmen who plays Bangladesh is likely to at least reach a half-century and so Tresco and Vaughan deserve it as much as any Aussie batsmen or any South African etc etc.

I thoroughly enjoyed the innings and although easy: Tresco didn't look in any trouble (Something which doesn't always happen i'll be honest) as he left any outside ball and seemed to be on real form - I think he'd have posted a big score against any test team on that performance althouh how much is hard to tell! Vaughan looks to be getting better but he was close to getting out quite a few times!

But contrast the ease of their centuries with Mark Richardson last year. His determination to get to three figures, to have his name on the board. That is what Test cricket is all about

Which is why I said to OF that this game lacks intensity, there is something so predicatable so easy therefore lacks taht something else that makes Test Cricket so special.

I am not really saying that these two don't deserve the runs, they played well, you can only play against the opponents given to you. I just don't feel the opponents are up to it...

From the BBC sport page.

"1638: Will Gidman, of the MCC groundstaff, gives away four runs in overthrows - not the best way to ingratiate himself with the new bowler Flintoff."

Can someone tell me what the **** Mr Gidman is doing on the pitch ????????????????

Apparently I got that wrong. CMJ has just said that the refunds are only made if play is prevented or curtailed by the weather. If the match situation intervenes, that's tough, apparently. There will be a lot of angry punters if this match doesn't produce some decent amount of play tomorrow if that's the case.

Simon Jones sounds as though he is on fire. Wicket with the first ball of each of his two overs!
