1st Test: England v Bangladesh: Lord's 26-30 May

A bit early to open the match thread perhaps, but I am doing so simply to bring attention to the fact that tickets remain available for all five days of this match, with prices reportedly starting at £20 for the opening day. Lord's is reportedly about half sold for the first three days, with fewer than 4,000 tickets sold for the fourth and fifth day (understandably, I guess). If I were in London next week, I would certainly go along for the first day or two. Unfortunately, it is not to be.

There is a link to the ticket sales site on www.lords.org for anyone who is interested.

Tickets also remain available for the second test at the Riverside, again reportedly for all five days (3-7 June). Their website sales are through www.durhamccc.co.uk.

Is he that same guy with the Spanish nickname? If he is, then I'm very dissapointed he's not playing, I really wanted to find out what he looks like on television. Never actually managed that before.

Radio commentary

Just to add to Jenko's note above, indications from the BBC's websites are that Test Match Special will be available on the web to users outside the UK. (That is based on the fact that, when I last looked, no geographic restrictions were mentioned.) If it isn't available, you will know because you will hear cries of anguish coming from the direction of Prague.

And what do I see on the BBC's weather page for St John's Wood on the first test day of the season? Drizzle! Pah! And light showers tomorrow! Pah, again! Still, Saturday onwards forecast to be dry at the moment, so there should be ample time for a good game. I've been waiting here at the computer terminal since about 0430 BST today ... come on, guys! Time's a-wasting!

Well its 0950 BST, I am around 3.5 miles from St John's Wood and its bright and sunny, probably one of the hottest days of the year so far. Another instance of the BBC's new 3D technology letting them down?

Vaughny has won the toss and elected to bowl first. Oh my goodness, I'm really excited! It's that 'first test of the summer' thing again! I wish I was at home watching on the telly!

Bet365 offering up 205 as the total for Bangladesh. England will do well to bowl them out for this.

Especially the way they've started - 5 no balls already? Anyone watching or listening to this - are we bowling good or pants?

Bangladesh have survived their first half hour of Test cricket in England in their history without losing a wicket thus far. I wasn't expecting their openers to last this long against Harmison and Hoggard in early season English conditions.
