His pull shot is good but for me it's the drives that when he gets right are what Cricket was invented for... As for his pull, it is not the thuggish pull shot of Flintoff etc, it is a dream of shot full of timing and a natural eye that picks up the ball early and hits it even when it is not quite short enough. If he gets it right it sails for six, and it looks like he is made no effort at all to get it there.. |

| Also good to see is a young batsman/bowler at lower league level learning his skill properly, and been given the opportunity rather than fielding 45 overs with not a bowl or bat in sight. A superb catch from an average player in lower leagues who tries every week for the fun of the game is much better than watching test match cricket. I find it better to play than watch even though my standard is how I could put it not very good !!!!! Play to win or dont play at all!!! |

| Former best sight in the game: Sir Viv in full cry. Bowler pitches ball just short of a length just outside off. Viv just spots it early and with a lot of wrist just dispatches it over midwicket as if the bowler was a sunday league misfit. Current best sight in the game: Lara, an immeasureably better looking batsman than Vaughan, executing a number of shots, from the pull to the cut, off his hips down to fine leg, or the best, pulling with one leg up in the air!! Followed by Inzi who always seems to look like he's changed his mind after the bowler has bowled the ball 3 or 4 times. |

| As a bowler, I have to give a shout to: Waqar bowling a delivery outside off, only for it to decide to move 8-10" at the last minute before uprooting middle stump.

| Out of those, has to be any one of Sachin's shots when he's on form. Otherwise I cherish the memories of Goughie sending multiple stumps flying after a perfect inswinging yorker |

| What about Ponting's pull shot? Have you people forgotten that? Or how easily he picks up the slightly short ball and hoicks it over the fence?!!!!

| Ponting's pull and Vaughan's rate right up there, along with Tendulkar's cover drive and Inzi's ability to just bludgeon the ball out of the park when a spinner comes on. But the best sight to see is when guys like Shahid Afridi or Kevin Pieterson get going, and send the ball crashing to all corners, unstoppable, the opposition can only watch and gape. That to me is a real treat to watch.

| An an Englishman it pains me to say it, but there is one single sight that I have seen in test cricket that stand out. Warne v Gatting. I was lucky enough to see it live on TV, and that ball was the most amazing, unexpected thing I have seen. The look on Gatting's face was brilliant - I believe he had to ask the umpire or keeper if he had really been bowled! Actually, it doesn't pain me to say it, as I dislike Gatting. And it's one up for the bowlers!
