The Ashes First Test Lords Thursday 21st July..Day 3.

Wow what a game, what is it 26 wickets, and only just starting day 3.

If Australia have a lead of about 375, it will be very interesting, because say with 8 sessions left, a draw will be out of the question, unless the weather intervenes.

Gettable for England?, well yes!, the wicket although having some variable bounce, is not seaming like day one.

Can Australia bowl England out chasing say 375?, yes but it will be harder because this is a strange Test Match, day three will be like day 5 in a normal match, but the wicket will not have deteriated in so short a time.

So there is a lot of cricket left in this match, can go either way, although Aussie is 1/5 favorites, but England at 9/2 must be worth a punt.
name your odds for a draw I should think.

But Ern, this is because we haven't seen Glenn McGrath bowling with a new ball since day one!

Can not wait, cricket for me starts at 5.30 in mornig - so if I sleep in I have to catch up. Knowing my luck I will wake up at 8.30 and can not get the computer working to get on line to see whats been happening.

Either way - Great test match - I can not see England scoring the runs in one day - so If England wins it will be in day 4. If Australia wins it will be in day 3.

Can not see England rolling Australia in 2 test matches if Australia get up in this one. So Ashes to Australia if Australia win. If England win Ashes are heading back to England. I think Australia will have a lot of work to do with a very tail up England.

Even Glen McGrath has to have a day of sometime Lemming, every innings is different.

For the sake of this test match, I really hope you are quite correct Ernest!

I use the same sort of principle when England bat.. One day we'll put together a score against the Aussies.. Oh.. Not today.. Another collapse.

I know I am going to hate to have to say this................ sorry I was trying to get the bad taste out of my mouth. I have to agree with Ernest - McGrath's best figures in cricket where here in Lords in 1997 8/38 absolutely demolished the English batsmen - but returned the figures of 1/65 in the same amount of overs. Drawn game - not down to bad bowling just the bloody rain got in the way.

Hehe, that's pessimism. But I'm a pessimist also and think just like that too!
