| Clarke's a right whinger. It's not even above knee height and he's saying Freddie's bowling beamers. Too much legside stuff again. 113 to win with 3 wickets left. Last edited by Pete : 06-08-2005 at 05:28 PM. |

| He can go into the dressing room and cry now, maybe get on the phone to his mummy; "Everyone's saying it was a yorker Mummy, but I think it was a beamer!" I told him to keep his mouth shut! Australia might be used to having teams break down and give them victories even when they play badly. I imagine the rest of the team have been telling Clarke that another team has no right to put him under pressure. But Clarke will have to learn soon, considering he won't be playing for the best team in the world much longer.

How many batsmen have actually played well and got out by great deliveries? The only guys got out today by anything tough were Geraint Jones and Ponting (brutes of balls that spat off the pitch)... the rest should have been cruising? How many bowlers have been bowling well today and piling on the pressure? Warne and Flintoff did OK... but Lee was diabolical.. Gillespie was worse... and Kasprowicz bowled like a schoolboy. To cap it all, Harmison, Hoggard and Jones were not much better than the Aussies. The constant trickle of wickets on either side has been quite ridiculous... and testament to the inflated averages and ratings of the batsmen: it's not been as appalling as the rubbish served up by the Indians on the sub-continent when the Aussies merely had to go through the motions to be presented with victory on a plate - but it's not far off. The only good thing is that we're seeing the "average 50+ batsmen" as the frauds they are. |
