| I don't want to give the impression that England is a one-man outfit, but the straight answer is "No". Without Fred, we would have lost this game, I am sure.

| you cant really say if Flintoff was not playing, somebody else may have done the same thing, its unlikely but you never know Harmison may have taken a few more wickets instead and the person replacing him may have hit a century i know this is highly unlikely, so i do doubt that we would of won this test without him, but can't say for sure as we dont know how we would of done without him

| He was man of the match for sure, but at the end of the day it was a team effort. |

| The poll and the thread ask different questions. The thread asks if England would have won without Fred, answer to which is no. While the thread ask if England are more likely to win the Ashes after winning this test, and answer to that is yes. |

| They are obviously more likely to win the Ashes after winning this test match. Whether they will or not remains to be seen. They have such a great chance to apply more pressure in only a few days time and push for a 2-1 lead.

| I am involved in a high stakes fantasy cricket comp at the moment. I have chosen Warne as my all rounder for both games and even after Flintoff's fine performance this test, Warne has provided more points. Thus, i consider Warne the superior all rounder. Also, if you look through his test record in stats guru, you will notice that this is only the second time in his test career when he has taken wickets and scored runs in the same test. This match was an exception to his usual test performance - he rarely performs in with bat and ball in the same test which is why i would need far more convincing to rate him an allrounder of notable worth.

| Seamer is correct I still believe that Freddie is a great player, but not the best in the world agreeing with what Seamer said, Flintoff said so himself its rare for him to score runs and take wickets in the same match not taking anything away from him he really done us proud and i hope it continues it into the next test

He even said so himself, being interviewed after the game. he said he rarely does it as its difficult, and he'll probably chip in with a couple of wickets next test but not so many runs. i sincerely hope he does
